The value of rents in Lisbon

In the last 3 months of 2023, apartment rents grew by 5.8% at European level (the lowest variation), but the same was not true in Lisbon - with a drop of more than 10%.

The data from the International Rent Index by City from the HousingAnywhere platform shows that Europe has seen the lowest price increase since the 3rd quarter of 2021 (which shows greater purchasing power). In Portugal, and particularly in the capital, the drop fell by 15.8% in the last quarter (compared to the previous one) and by 11.3% (compared to the 4th quarter of 2022).

The truth is that rents have been falling (an average of 1.685€, in the period analyzed). This is a scenario that Urbibarra works towards on a daily basis, seeking to offer competitive prices. Lisbon, which was the most expensive city to rent in the 2nd quarter of 2023, has moved down to 8th place (the most expensive cities are Amsterdam, Rome and Milan).
