The evolution of economic activity in Portugal

The most recent release of estimates from the INE (Instituto Nacional de Estatística) showed an increase of 2.3% in economic activity in Portugal. If we focus on the construction sector, there was an equally positive percentage (3.4%).

This growth has been reflected in different aspects of the industry. We're talking about open tenders for public works contracts and contracts concluded and registered on the Portal Base. The total volume of tenders (65.3%) represented 6,048 million euros, while contracts rose by 48.2% (3,699 million euros).

With regard to the bank valuation of housing, the valuation continued to rise, at 5.3%. The material used, such as cement, totaled 3,904 thousand tons (an increase of 1.8% compared to 2023). It is in this sense that Urbibarra seeks to meet the expectations and trends of the market, between the demand and supply it makes available with its projects.
